This Volunteer Day was Heavenly

Every child deserves to sleep in a bed. Sadly, not all are able to because their families can’t afford them. That’s where Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a non-profit dedicated to providing beds to children in need, comes in. Recently they needed a little help. That’s where we came in.

During our latest Volunteer Day, 50 Realtors and team members from Grand Central Park and Woodforest sanded, hammered and sawed to build beds for Montgomery County children who may have never slept on a mattress before. Together we built nearly 100 twin beds. In addition, Johnson Development donated $2,000 to the organization.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a national non-profit whose sole purpose is to make sure no child sleeps on the floor. Volunteers are always needed to build beds, match bedding for recipients and deliver them.

The volunteer day was part of our Empower Realtors program, a series of classes and events to help real estate agents personally and professionally. It’s a chance for Realtors and our team members to help organizations throughout the North Houston community. This year, along with our volunteer time, we are donating $2,000 to each organization.
