Donate to Make a Difference Nov. 1-15November 08, 2023
Placing a few extra items in your shopping cart can make all the difference to a hungry family this holiday season if you donate them during the Grand Central Park food drive going on now through Nov. 15. The public is invited to drop off non-perishable food items at The Lake House, 1039 Lake House Drive; The Finding Place, 750 Grand Central Parkway; or the Drees model home, 410 Lake Day Drive. Donations can be dropped off daily at The Lake House between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Finding Place is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. The model home is open daily. The drive benefits the Montgomery County Food Bank, a nonprofit, hunger relief organization that provides nutritious food to hungry children, seniors and families. The food bank receives, processes, packages and distributes donated food throughout Montgomery County. When you donate, you are contributing to the health and wellness of the hungry neighbors and making their holidays more joyous. Monetary donations are also accepted. For every $1 donated, Montgomery County Food Bank can provide up to 4 meals to struggling families, at-risk seniors and hungry children. In 2022, the food bank served more than 65,000 people each month and the need is growing. Help us help those in need of nutritious meals. The most needed items include rice, pasta, macaroni and cheese, 100 percent fruit juice, peanut butter, canned beans, dried beans, canned fruits in light syrup or in their own juices, healthy snacks and low sodium canned vegetables. Canned tuna, salmon and chicken are also needed. Donate today! |
