Building Homes, Rowing for a CauseOctober 16, 2023
Our Grand Central Park development team recently joined local real estate agents to serve the greater North Houston community by building homes and rowing for a cause. In September, we participated in a Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County Build Day. The group of 30 volunteers laid the groundwork for the construction of five new homes by preparing, cutting and nailing boards. It was hard work, but we enjoyed every minute of it. September 29 was race day as we fielded a team of 30 to participate in the annual YMCA Dragon Boat Team Challenge. The event benefits The Woodlands Family YMCA Annual Campaign, which ensures that everyone — regardless of age, income or background — can learn, grow and thrive at the YMCA. We competed in the obstacle course, dragon boat race, dodgeball and giant pong ball. It was all fun, but we really loved racing our colorful, dragon-headed boat across Lake Woodlands. We didn’t win the race, but our team took home a trophy for the “Most Spirited.” We love partnering with our wonderful Realtors to make Montgomery County a better place for all residents. We plan to host one more volunteer day his year, helping at Meals on Wheels this December. The JDC Volunteer Day initiative is part of our Empower Realtors program, a series of classes and events to help real estate agents grow personally and professionally. |
