Spend Spring Break in Conroe

The kids are out of school for Spring Break. What are you going to do? Take them to Conroe! Conroe boasts indoor and outdoor fun for the entire family. Here are some of our favorite places.

Conroe’s favorite family destination boasts a petting zoo, mini-golf course, Western play town, huge playground, gigantic sandbox, zip line, horseshoe pit and much more.

When our residents aren’t hiking our beautiful trails, they’re learning about nature at one of the nation’s largest working forests. Nearly 15 miles of trails and pathways are available for exploration as well as picnic areas, two small lakes for limited fishing, a fitness trail, demonstration gardens and geocaching opportunities.

The biggest attraction is the 128-mile Lone Star Hiking trail, but nature-loving families can also picnic, fish and search for wildlife.

Spend the afternoon outdoors. This 13-acre park offers barbeque pits, picnic facilities, swimming areas and fishing piers, two covered pavilions available for rent, a softball field and volleyball areas.

Learn local history from prehistoric times to the founding of The Woodlands. Exhibits include works by Conroe artist Mark Clapham, historic buildings and information about the state flag. The children’s Discovery Room has a log cabin and general store to explore, old-time clothes to try on and a working antique cash register.

$35 per person for Howl Night, $75 for Camping with the Wolves
Cap off spring break with a night around the campfire learning about wolves. Howl Night includes water, sodas, hot dogs/veggie dogs, chips, fruit and s’mores. Overnight campers must bring their own tents and equipment. A light breakfast will be provided.
