New Grand Central Park Monument Sign Installed on I-45 The landmark rock-based sign on I-45 in Conroe which for decades marked the entry to one of the region’s finest scouting destinations has been transformed into a new monument sign for Conroe’s Grand Central Park. “The sign is such a fixture in the area, it just made sense to preserve its signature feature,” says Grand Central Park General Manager Virgil Yoakum. “The rock base has a real history to it. Plus, it reinforces the natural elements within the community.” A second monument sign for Grand Central Park has been installed on Loop 336. In addition to the new monument signs, work continues on new roadways within the property to provide those who live, work and shop in the master-planned community with improved mobility and access to Loop 336 and I-45. Plus, Grand Central Park will be accessible from the soon-to-be-completed extended Grand Parkway. Grand Central Park currently is under development to include luxury, single-family homes on wood sites, parks, open green spaces and the regional shopping, dining and entertainment destination 336 MARKETPLACE, all part of the master-planned community’s first phase. Construction of new homes will begin in early 2016 in the village to be known as Grand Central Park West at the northwest corner of the master-planned community where residents will enjoy The master-planned community is strategically located in the heart of Montgomery County, 10 miles from Lone Star Executive Airport and 30 minutes from George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Residents of Grand Central Park West also will be minutes from Conroe Regional Medical Center, Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital, Texas Children’s Health Center – The Woodlands, and Houston Methodist Hospital, opening in The Woodlands in 2017. Grand Central Park is under development by The Johnson Development Corp., now in its 40th year as one of the nation’s preeminent land developers.
