Hi there, I'm Arrow! My siblings and I were practicing social distancing long before it was a household word! That's right, we came to OPA as wee kittens, mostly feral and scared to death of people. We can thank our foster family for having patience to socialize us. Yes, we found out that humans are awesome! We now CRAVE human affection and attention and I'm the leader of that movement along with my brother Bow. I have the loudest purr of them all and will gladly roll around and show you. I will need a calm, quiet home with experienced cat people who are patient and willing to earn my trust. Once you earn that, you'll want to rename me "Snuggle Bunny". I would probably do best being adopted with one of my brothers, Rifle or Bow, or my sister Bullet. Pattie was turned into a shelter pregnant. She made it into a foster home just in time. She delivered 9 beautiful healthy puppies less than 24 hours after getting into her foster home. Her puppies have all found their forever homes, so it is now Pattie's turn! Pattie is a fun-loving dog; she plays chase with one of the dogs in foster care and she likes to go for long walks. She is crate, house and leash trained. She has learned to use a doggie door and she is not destructive in the house or yard, so she moves around as she pleases. She rides well in a car; she settles down and sits still during the trip. She is not in a foster home with children, so not sure how she does with little kids. She gets along with other dogs after a slow introduction and gets along with men and women. Pattie is heartworm positive, but we have been working with The Heartworm Foundation and she has been on prescription heartworm meds for 4 months with 2 more months of meds. She will need to be on heartworm prevention the rest of her life. |
If you're looking for a sexy and loveable house panther, your search is over! Biff is the purriest guy you'll ever meet, he's as playful as he is loveable and snuggly. If you pull out a cat dancer or cat charmer toy, he will go absolutely wackadoodle. Biff loves attention and will greet you the minute you come into a room (if he isn't already following you around). He's quite the social creature. If you're looking to expand your family by more than one cat, consider adopting him with one of his roommates Gnomeo, Bow, Arrow or Rifle. Elliot came to OPA in September 2019, as a 3-year-old stray that had been hit by a car. His surgery on his back-left leg was a success! He has improved tremendously and is building up his endurance again. Elliot is very smart and learns whatever system he is taught, like heading to the pantry when you haven’t fed him on time! Elliot is an affection hog and would do amazing as the only animal in his future forever home to soak up all the love! Elliot will mind smaller children when they direct him to sit or do other tricks, but he would do best in a home with children over the age of 10 since he's such a big boy. He is protective of his people (including his favorite groomer!) and foster home but loves to make new human friends. He has received a few training sessions to learn how to make new dog friends and would benefit from additional training and work in his new home. |
Meet Bow (aka Bowchunkus). Bow is our resident "Bull in a China Shop". He and his 2 brothers and 1 sister came into foster care in May 2019 as kittens that had been caught during the TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) of feral colony. His mom must have told him some awful things about "hoomans" because it took a bit of time and patience to get him to trust people but now, he must be the center of attention. He's a chunky but energetic guy who has quite the nip issue. He may need rehab at some point but for now, just enjoy his nutty antics and keep the crunchy snacks handy. This dude will need a calm, quiet home with experienced cat people who are patient and willing to earn his trust. He would do best being adopted with one of his littermates. Little Zena is all about FUN! An adorable 3-year-old, 40 lb Pittie, Zena LOVES her squeaky toys, is gregarious, goofy, AND offers plenty of smooches and snuggles for her peeps. Her happy place is on the sofa calmly cuddling her favorite humans. Zena prefers to be an only pet getting all of the love but could consider a bigger male canine buddy who has a friendly alpha vibe. She is crate trained and can be trusted with freedom to roam the house. She will alert if anyone is lurking about outside, making her the perfect watch dog, so no alarm system needed! |
Meet Rifle (aka Rifey). Rifle is the shyest of the boys but he's really loveable. He and his 2 brothers and 1 sister came into foster care in May 2019 as kittens that had been caught during the TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) of a feral colony. He definitely bonds with one person and when he does, he becomes a furry appendage. This little cutie would do best in a home with people who know how to take care of cats. He would do best being adopted with one of his littermates. To see more pictures, videos and information on me and my siblings, check out our foster mom's Instagram account @adopttexaskittens. |
Harrison has been through a rough patch and that is sugar coating it. If you can identify with someone that’s been dealt a sad hand but has endured, then Harrison could be your soulmate. Harrison ended up in the shelter with a deformity that visually prevented him from being adopted. OPA provided surgery to rebuild his penal sheath and he now looks great! He also was Heartworm positive & had to go through Heartworm treatment. Sadly, he was also a victim of a horrible abuse situation. All of these have made him what he is today - one tough cookie. Harrison is ready to move on and soak up the good life! Harrison has lived with other animals, but it would be ideal if he were the only pet in his new home. He does not like cats, livestock, or rodents! He loves his caretakers. Harrison walks fabulously on a leash and loves to go on walks. He also does well on car rides. |
Hi, my name is Gnomeo! My foster family is great but they haven't had much luck with finding me a forever home so I've decided to give this a shot myself.... so here goes nothing. Not to sound to egotistical but I'm a lover... to be specific, I am a huge fan of belly rubs and will trade you drooling and purring for one anytime. If I want your attention and you're not giving it to me, I'll let you know. I'm quiet and don't meow much. I prefer to make these trilling noises, which the human peeps seem to think are adorable. I'm also a fastidious guy but prefer that you do my manicures and pedicures. I would do best being adopted with one of my littermates. Anya is a beautiful girl with stunning eyes! Although she is shy, she is also an incredibly sweet and gentle lady. While we don’t know her entire story, we do know she was surviving on someone’s property for a few years and rescued with a single tiny puppy in her care. Anya has been an amazing mother and now deserves an amazing future for herself. Each week in foster care she has made incredible progress as she learned to trust her human friends and learned how to be a family pet. She is very affectionate and gets along well with all members in her foster home. Anya will do very well with a patient family willing to give her just a little time to adjust and get familiar with her new home. She’s house trained, crate trained, great with friendly dogs, and will thrive in a calm and loving home! |
